Rosneft Installs Charging Stations for Electric Cars in Khabarovsk

26 March 2021

Rosneft Oil Company continues to implement a programme to equip its filling stations with electric charging infrastructure. Fast charging stations were installed at two Rosneft petrol stations in Khabarovsk. Currently, 12 more stations (regular and fast) are already operating at the Company’s filling stations in the Moscow, Tver and Leningrad Regions, in Vladivostok and in the Krasnodar Krai.

The 50kW stations installed in Khabarovsk charge up to 80% of an electric car’s battery capacity in just 40 minutes. The equipment supports various international charging standards (CCS, CHAdeMO and Type2) and allows two vehicles to be charged simultaneously in regular and fast modes.

The project is implemented as part of cooperation between Rosneft and RusHydro. The companies plan to develop infrastructure for electric vehicles at Rosneft filling stations in the Far Eastern Federal District. The region choice for the cooperation was deliberate as more than a quarter of all the electric vehicles in Russia are currently registered in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The development of charging infrastructure at the Company’s filling stations will allow drivers of electric vehicles to travel freely using Rosneft’s extensive retail sites network. The round-the-clock opening hours and related services will allow motorists to comfortably spend time -- drink fresh coffee, have a snack at the café, buy goods in the shop and use other facilities -- at the Company’s stations while their electric vehicle is being charged.

Ensuring high-quality standards of petroleum products and non-fuel services, the Rosneft retail sites network is developing additional services for the convenience of its customers. The Company will continue to further develop the charging infrastructure at its filling stations in line with demand forecasts and developments in the electric vehicle market.

Note for Editors:

Rosneft owns the largest retail network in Russia comprising 3,057 fuel-filling stations and complexes. The Company’s retail geography covers 66 regions in all federal districts of Russia. *Rosneft owns and runs the BP Retail Networks in Russia using BP trademarks under a licence from BP PLC, as well as PFC Retail Network and Bashneft.
